Sculptures should always be placed on a stable and secure surface where they will not bounce or fall easily. Avoid placing the sculpture where it is frequently touched or collides with other objects, or where there are high humidity or temperature changes. Sculptures should be kept at optimum temperature and humidity to maintain a consistent and long-lasting appearance. Bronze statues should generally be stored at a temperature between 18 and 22 degrees Celsius, and crystal glass and porcelain statues at a temperature between 20 and 24 degrees Celsius. They generally need to be stored in a dry place, away from water and humidity.
If the statue is in a room where it will be exposed to humidifiers, evaporators or other extreme light and heat, steam, ensure that it is in an enclosed medium such as a display case or plexiglass dome.
Bronze sculptures should not be exposed directly to strong sunlight as they can be damaged by UV radiation and heat. If the sculpture is to be placed in a location exposed to sunlight, use a protective covering or curtain to protect the sculpture from strong rays.
It is also important not to expose the statue to heat fluctuations or sudden temperature changes, as this can also damage the surface and structure of the bronze. It is also worth paying attention to the following:
Do not place the bronze sculpture directly next to a radiator or in front of a radiator, as the constant hot air or occasional thermal fluctuations can damage the surface of the bronze.
Equally, do not place the bronze sculpture directly exposed to cold or frost, for example near a window where cold air can easily enter.
Sculptures should be inspected regularly to ensure that any minor damage to the surface, such as scratches or stains, is detected in good time. If these damages are detected in time, they can be easily repaired.
If the bronze statue is not handled or stored for a long period of time, it is recommended to apply a protective coating to its surface. This can be done with special bronze protection sprays or waxes that protect the bronze from corrosion and environmental influences.
When moving the statue, make sure that it is handled with care and that it is not dropped or collided with other objects. To avoid damage, the sculpture should be stored or transported in a box lined with a softer material, such as a sponge.
